Or how Hackers was a riot because of how hilariously wrong it got ... well ... everything that matters? Compared to some TV shows, Hackers is accurate. I give you 2 people typing on the same keyboard to try to fight off a hacker. [VIDEO]

> [VIDEO] So this is what the pair programming experience is like! I like to imagine the next scene is the two >1000 hacksaws explaining ssh, remote X and basic Cisco admin to the yank-happy cord monster. Ever been on IRC? It's exciting stuff: [LINK]

My favorite hacking scene is still from Scorpions (well there are two, the one below and the one where they are hacking a jet, with a RJ45 cable, from a car while landing). "We need to hack NORAD!" Guy reaches for keyboard (without touching it), "Done!". Sarcasm apart, while Mr.Robot has good tech, I got bored by the story line around episode 4 or 5. I think it was just too slow for my taste. Edit: Link to first "Hack" mentioned: [LINK] Edit2: Link to the double keyboard NCIS video: [VIDEO]

John Adams is fighting a giant snake. [LINK] --------------- I guess you can say that the typical American doesn't know about computers in the `00s: [VIDEO] But no one watches NCIS to get accurate depictions of hackers. People watch NCIS to get entertained. Pop-culture in general doesn't actually CARE how things work, its entertainment value, NOT accuracy.

At first I thought you were kidding. I had to look up this person had never watched NCIS and we do have some eerie resemblances. I served in the same time-frame as the fictional character and have some of the same background, though different branch. Suffered the same young tragedy except I had no other family at the time. Very similar training. That show has 19 seasons. Why was it so popular? I've only seen the meme from the dueling-hackers from that show. [1] [1] - [VIDEO]

This has nothing to do with hacking and everything to do with the ghost touch issues that apparently affect multiple Series 9 and Ultra 2 users (although I’ve not seen it on my series 9 myself). Way back in the early days of Android (pre Ice Cream Sandwich), I spoke to one co-worker who told me that when they looked at their Google Map app while driving it would show their actual physical car (and all the other surrounding vehicles etc.) on the satellite view - in motion - in real time. No manner of attempts by me to state why this was impossible would dissuade them and they went away thinking I was the technical idiot as a result. So “we are in control”? Yeah, no. This is what happens when folk think that shows like NCIS and their ilk are factual based docudramas. Obligatory link: [VIDEO]

> Most non-technical business stakeholders don't really understand what we do. You don't see shows about awesome devs doing awesome shit, like you do for lawyers, doctors, business people, etc. All they know about us is that we're nerds who work like two hours a day and can't be bothered to go into the office. You do, but it's even more ridiculous nonsense fantasy than a typical doctor or a lawyer show (e.g. all the hacker girl scenes like [LINK] , [VIDEO] ).
